Maine Freedom Rally to Gather in Downtown Bangor November 11–19 in Support of Cannabis Rights and Constitutional Freedom
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Bangor, ME – November 3, 2025 — Advocates, cannabis caregivers, patients, and citizens from across Maine and beyond will gather in downtown Bangor from November 11 through 19 for the Maine Freedom Rally, a peaceful assembly focused on defending medical cannabis rights, individual liberty, and justice for Maine citizens under federal overreach.
The rally coincides with the federal trial of caregiver and small business owner Luke Sirois, who is being prosecuted despite operating legally under Maine’s medical cannabis program and federal hemp definitions. The case has drawn national attention as a test of state sovereignty, patient access, and the future of Maine’s caregiver system.
Organized by Jennifer Belcher and a dedicated group of longtime advocates who have been fighting for patients’ rights and cannabis freedom for over two decades, the event aims to unite voices from across the country — patients, families, musicians, educators, and entrepreneurs — to stand together for truth, transparency, and freedom.
“This isn’t about one man,” says Belcher. “It’s about every patient, caregiver, and small business owner who followed Maine’s laws and served their communities — yet now face the threat of federal prison for doing what our state allows. We’re standing together — peacefully and proudly — to defend our rights and Maine’s future.”
The event will include:
- Educational speakers and patient testimonials highlighting the science and success of Maine’s medical program
- Live acoustic music and local artists promoting community connection and healing through art
- Vendor and advocacy tables sharing resources for patients, caregivers, and small business owners
- Daily gatherings in Bangor’s downtown district and near the federal courthouse and library.
The Maine Freedom Rally emphasizes peace, unity, and civic engagement. Attendees are encouraged to bring signs, instruments, and their voices to help amplify awareness while respecting local laws and businesses.
