Celebrate Mendocino Farmers at The Mendo Cup in Willits, CA on May 3rd, 2026

[FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE] Willits, CA – Tickets are on sale for Mendocino County’s premier annual cannabis competition: The Mendo Cup. Mendocino County, of Emerald Triangle fame, is the original site of the fabled Emerald Cup, and has decades upon decades of legacy cannabis history from the 20th century which outsiders were never invited to.

In the Post-Prohibition regulatory landscape of 2026, things are a tad bit more open now. This private competition culminates in an awards ceremony on May 3rd, 2026 which . The Mendo Cup organizers described what motivated the unheard of move in cannabis competition history:

“In our efforts to support small farmers, all revenue generated from the Cup (after expenses) will be returned to the farmers who enter and divided evenly. This is the only Cup that shares profit with farmers. We are truly a Cup by and for the Community.”

Now in its second year, The Mendo Cup has expanded to include more farms, a longer judging period, and retail partners for the Mendo cup winners. In the weeks prior to the event, a panel of experts will follow a blinded judging process and evaluate the submitted samples. After the winners are announced, winners of the Mendo Cup will be available for purchase at partner retailers.

The Mendo Cup Awards Ceremony will be held Sunday, May 3rd, at 2:15 PM at the Little Lake Grange, 291 School St, Willits, CA 95490.

About The Mendo Cup

The Mendo Cup is a first-of-its-kind, hyper-local competition, which only features farmers with less than 10,000 sqft of cultivation. This competition was created for and by the Mendocino community; as a testament to this commitment, Mendo Cup will donate all revenue generated from the Cup after expenses equally among the participating farmers who entered. By sharing the abundance, we hope to nurture community roots and build a long-lasting competition to highlight this historical cannabis producing region. Want more information on The Mendo Cup?
