The Tinymight 2 Review: An Enthusiast’s Vaporizer

The Tinymight 2 is a perfect example of the type of vape that enthusiasts boast about. It’s expensive and takes a little time to learn, but it rewards you with some of the best sessions you’ll find in a portable weed vape.

Big, Flavorful Hits

The Tinymight 2 is a full convection vaporizer. It heats your weed with hot air rather than with a heated surface. Convection is widely considered the best way to vape because the flavor is cleaner, your herbs last longer, and you get thick, potent clouds. It only heats your weed when you inhale, so nothing goes to waste in between hits.

The Tinymight 2 is one of the best examples of this you can buy.

The vapor is fast and furious, but somehow delicate at the same time. Take a soft pull, and the hits are noticeable and flavorful. Pull hard, and it’ll punch you in the chest with thick, milky clouds. It’s the kind of vape where you can really tune the experience just by how you draw on it.

On-Demand or Session

Most portable vapes only do one of two things. Some have a “session mode,” which heats the vape to your set temperature and holds it there for a stretch of time. Rip it as you please, pass it around, set it down, come back until it times out or you shut it off. Others are “on-demand,” where the vape only heats up while you hold the button down. Take your hit, let go, and the heater cuts off.

The Tinymight 2 does both really well.

Session mode is the easier of the two, especially if you’ve got a group to share with or you want an extended experience with multiple hits. Set your temperature, click it on, and go. Take a hit, pause, take another, hand it to a friend. I’ve had multiple sessions run past 10 minutes, so it’ll last a while.

On-demand is my personal favorite. I prefer to take one long hit and then sit with it for a while and let the effects settle in. Just click and hold, take as long or short a hit as you want, and then let go and set it down. It’s perfect when you only need a little bit or want quick, controlled pulls and not an entire session.

Tinymight 2 Controls Take a Minute to Learn

This is where the Tinymight 2 gets a little tricky. There’s no screen. Just a small light, a temperature dial on the bottom, and a single button on the side. Different click patterns do different things, and some of those combinations feel like you’re sending Morse code at first. Keep the manual nearby for the first few sessions.

The temperature dial ranges from 1 to 10, with no specific temperatures listed outside of the manual, so you’ll have to experiment to find your sweet spot. I spent most of my time between 4 and 6. Below 4, the vapor thins out but tastes great. Above 6 starts to get a little harsh. Number 10 is reserved for concentrates only, which is a huge bonus if you’ve got some on the side. Otherwise, it’ll burn your weed.

It also heats up incredibly fast. It’s ready from that first click in about 10 seconds, with even quicker times when it’s already warm.

Smart Little Touches

There are some really nice details on this thing. The stir tool sits right next to the mouthpiece and fits snugly. When the vapor starts to thin, remove the stem and give the bowl a quick swirl with the tool for a few extra hits.

Your battery level is indicated with a small LED on the bottom of the vape. The little holes on top of the stir tool let light shine through, so you can read it without flipping the vape over.

The oven is also adjustable. Push and slide the bowl up and down to expand or shrink it. Pack a tiny microdose for a light hit or two, or load it up huge for a thick, potent high.

The battery is a removable 18650, the same kind of cell you’ll find in many other weed vapes. Pop in a fresh one when it dies and keep it going. It charges pretty quickly via USB-C, but I’d grab a spare battery or two if you’re a regular user. You’ll get about 5 bowls per charge, which is pretty decent for a convection vape. They tend to burn through battery faster than other types.

Solid Build

The Tinymight 2 feels great in the hand. Two metal caps seal everything inside a walnut wood body, and its buttons and dials are high-quality. It’s sturdy and looks the part, but it’s heavy for its size, and you’ll feel it in your pocket. Don’t drop it on a hard floor!

The Tradeoffs of the Tinymight 2

Two things to know before you buy. First, this is an expensive portable vaporizer. Second, it has a small learning curve. You can’t just pick it up and use it like a vape pen. It’ll take a little time to figure out the controls, dial in your favorite temperature, and find your perfect draw. Once you nail these, though, it’s a real treat.

If you’re new to vapes and want something you can pull out of the box and use, it could take some extra work. It’s an enthusiast-grade vaporizer that rewards those who are willing to tinker a bit.

Bottom Line

The Tinymight 2 is one of the best portable vaporizers on the market right now. It hits as hard as anything out there, the flavor is exceptional, and it offers flexibility that most other portables don’t.
