Fat Nugs Magazine Announces New Brand Partnership with Homegrown4Heroes to Support Veterans Through Cannabis, Community, and Compassion
Fat Nugs Magazine is proud to officially announce its newest brand partnership with Homegrown4Heroes, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to helping veterans gain access to clean, tested cannabis through a trusted nationwide network of homegrowers, educational resources, and compassionate community support.
At its core, Homegrown4Heroes was built to serve veterans who often feel abandoned by the traditional systems that were supposed to support them after service. Founded and operated by people who genuinely care about veteran wellbeing, the organization has become a respected force within the cannabis community by focusing on direct action, trust, and making sure no veteran gets left behind.
Through its expanding network of homegrowers and advocates across the country, Homegrown4Heroes helps connect veterans to cannabis while also providing education, guidance, and a support system rooted in dignity and understanding. The organization believes veterans deserve safe access to cannabis without shame, judgment, or unnecessary barriers, especially when so many are navigating PTSD, chronic pain, anxiety, depression, sleep disorders, and the long-term emotional impact of military service.
The partnership with Fat Nugs Magazine represents an alignment of shared values between two organizations deeply committed to authenticity, community care, and changing the conversation surrounding cannabis and healing.
“Our partnership with Fat Nugs Magazine goes deeper than just being seen,” said Jennifer Bailey. “It’s about giving veterans a real voice and showing what this plant actually does for healing. We’re not here to play into the same old narrative, we’re here to shift it and make space for what’s real.”
As cannabis legalization continues expanding throughout the United States, organizations like Homegrown4Heroes are working to ensure veterans are not excluded from the larger conversation surrounding access and healing. While public perception around cannabis has evolved dramatically over the last decade, many veterans still struggle with stigma, affordability, inconsistent access, or fear tied to outdated narratives surrounding the plant.
That reality is part of what makes this partnership especially meaningful to Fat Nugs Magazine Founder and Editor-at-Large Dustin Hoxworth, whose connection to veteran issues runs deeply through his own family history.
“A huge part of who I am and why we approach this plant and this industry the way we do comes directly from my family’s experience with military service, PTSD, and the lasting effects of war,” said Dustin Hoxworth, Founder and Editor-at-Large of Fat Nugs Magazine. “I have 22 family members who are either active military or veterans, and I’ve seen firsthand what trauma can do to people you love. I’ve watched people carry those experiences for years, sometimes silently. So being able to partner with Jennifer and support what Homegrown4Heroes is building is incredibly personal to me. Our entire team is honored to stand beside an organization doing this kind of work with integrity, compassion, and real purpose.”
The partnership will include collaborative storytelling efforts, editorial features, social media amplification, awareness campaigns, and community-driven initiatives designed to elevate the voices of veterans and continue pushing honest conversations around cannabis and healing into the mainstream.
For Fat Nugs Magazine, the collaboration also reflects the publication’s larger mission of using media as a tool to spotlight organizations and people creating meaningful impact within cannabis culture rather than simply chasing headlines or corporate attention.
As an independent cannabis publication distributed nationally across all 50 states, Fat Nugs Magazine has built its reputation around authentic journalism, elevated visuals, community storytelling, and highlighting the small businesses, advocates, legacy operators, and nonprofit organizations helping shape the future of cannabis the right way.
Right now, Homegrown4Heroes is also facing a shortage and is actively calling on the cannabis community to step up and support veterans in need. Individuals interested in helping, donating, or getting involved are encouraged to reach out directly to the organization at hello@homegrown4heroes.org.
