Fat Nugs Magazine Brings Faces of Cannabis to Minnesota for the First Time at Legacy Cup 2026

Green Goods and NativeCare work together to bring FNM’s signature black-and-white portrait series to the Midwest’s largest cannabis festival.

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn., September 16, 2026 – On September 26, Fat Nugs Magazine will make its first trip to the Legacy Cup and bring the Faces of Cannabis to Minnesota for the very first time. Made possible by Green Goods and NativeCare, the Faces of Cannabis portrait experience will take place inside the Legacy Cup VIP section, right next to the main stage at Surly Brewing Festival Field. As thousands of cannabis lovers gather for a day of music, art, competition and community, FNM will be there documenting the people who make the culture what it is.

The 2026 Legacy Cup is expected to welcome as many as 15,000 attendees, with Big Boi featuring Sleepy Brown, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Nappy Roots, Sa-Roc and more performing throughout the day. But while the artists command the stage, Fat Nugs Magazine will turn its lens toward the crowd. Faces of Cannabis is FNM’s ongoing black-and-white portrait series dedicated to showing the real people behind the plant through striking portraits of the patients, growers, advocates, artists, entrepreneurs and everyday cannabis lovers who continue to move the culture forward.

“We created Faces of Cannabis because this community deserves to be seen as it truly is,” said Dustin Hoxworth, founder and editor-at-large of Fat Nugs Magazine. “Cannabis culture is not a demographic or a marketing profile. It’s the people, history, survival, creativity, resistance, medicine and joy that make up our community.”

This marks three firsts for Fat Nugs Magazine: its first appearance at the Legacy Cup, its first Faces of Cannabis activation at the festival, and the first time the portrait series has ever been produced in Minnesota. The activation was made possible by two brands with strong roots in the state and a shared commitment to cannabis access, education and community. Green Goods believes everyone has the right to feel good. Its mission is to embrace and enable goodness for its customers, its neighbors and the planet while making cannabis more accessible through education, choice and compassionate service.

NativeCare is a tribally owned recreational cannabis dispensary and part of the Red Lake Nation. Rooted in Indigenous values, community and culture, NativeCare offers high-quality cannabis products alongside education, transparency and a welcoming experience for everyone from first-time consumers to seasoned connoisseurs.

“Projects like Faces of Cannabis don’t happen out of nowhere,” Hoxworth said. “They happen because brands believe the people of this community are worth investing in and documenting. Thankful that Green Goods and NativeCare came together to allow us to be in the VIP section to create something Minnesota has never seen at the Legacy Cup.”

Representing Fat Nugs Magazine on-site will be founder and editor-at-large Dustin Hoxworth, chief operating officer Daniel Crawford and photographer Derrall Peach. Together, the team will photograph Legacy Cup attendees and add a new Minnesota chapter to the growing Faces of Cannabis archive. The Legacy Cup 2026 takes place Saturday, September 26, at Surly Brewing Festival Field in Minneapolis. The 21-and-over festival brings cannabis, music, art, competition and community together in what organizers call the Midwest’s largest cannabis festival.
