[For Immediate Release] May 1, 2026 – Fat Nugs Magazine, the premier independent cannabis publication, announces Nugs Over Alaska: an Alaskan tour in partnership with Rosie Creek Farms, the only sungrown cannabis cultivator in the state.

The recreational cannabis market in Alaska was established in 2014, making it one of the oldest markets in the country. In 2024, the state brought in over $28 million in cannabis tax revenue, and Forbes noted that Alaska had “the highest potential revenue from cannabis businesses as a percentage of total state revenue” in the same year.

Despite being active for over a decade, Alaska’s cannabis industry receives little attention outside of the state, particularly in the larger conversation around the growth of American cannabis. Nugs Over Alaska aims to change that.

Jessica Reilly-Chevalier, the magazine’s Editor-in-Chief, will visit Rosie Creek Farms and attend an industry networking party, in conjunction with the Alaskan cannabis industry’s annual meeting in Fairbanks on June 24.

“I am thrilled to get to explore the Alaskan cannabis market, a market that is incredibly underrepresented in the larger conversation about American cannabis,” Reilly-Chevalier said. “This is a well-established market that thousands of people rely on, generating millions of dollars in revenue and taxes – so why don’t we hear more about Alaska?”

Reilly-Chevalier’s tour and exploration will be heavily featured in the upcoming War of the Growing Methods edition of Fat Nugs Magazine, to be published in the fall of 2026.

“There’s a lot of talk around what outdoor growers can’t do. I’m very excited to tour Rosie Creek and see the power of the sun and what it can do for cannabis plants, the cannabinoid profiles, and the terpenes, even in the very far north.” Reilly-Chevalier said.

“We are thrilled to host Fat Nugs and Jessica to Alaska and share the excitement of growing cannabis under the midnight sun.” Mike Emers, owner of Rosie Creek Farms, said. “The Summer Solstice is a special time for Alaskans  – we know Jessica is the right person who can bring that story to the rest of the world.”

PufCreativ, the award-winning marketing agency for cannabis and hemp brands, has joined Nugs Over Alaska as a sponsor.

“The Alaska cannabis market has been operating for over a decade, generating real revenue and supporting real communities, yet it’s still overlooked in the national conversation. That’s a miss.” John Shute, CEO and Co-Founder of Puf Creativ, said. “Smaller markets are where you see grit, creativity, and true connection to the plant, but they’re often the last to get the branding and visibility they deserve. Nugs Over Alaska is about bringing that story forward and giving it the platform it’s earned.”

Businesses interested in participating in the Nugs Over Alaska tour can contact Fat Nugs Magazine for sponsorship and advertising details.
