Get High, Skip the Cough: The POTV Lobo Review

To smoke or not to smoke? What a silly question, right? I thought so too, until I discovered dry herb vaporizers and picked one up that actually produced something substantial. Now, it’s a real question worth asking.

Cannabis vaporizers have come a long way. At one point, they were expensive, inefficient, and burned through your weed without much to show for it. Today, there are plenty of devices that deliver real results.

I gave the POTV Lobo a whirl and was pleasantly surprised. It’s small but hits hard, with a solid set of features behind it. If you’re still a bit skeptical about vaporizers, this one might change your mind.

The POTV Lobo: Potent Highs Without Stank

The POTV Lobo packs a mean punch, but perhaps not one you’ll recognize if you’re unfamiliar with it.

You can get as high as you want, with or without the coughing fits. Vapor is much gentler compared to smoke, so the high tends to sneak up on you a bit. You can feel it in your lungs, but it’s smooth enough that you can really huff on it without choking yourself out right away.

And none of it sticks to your clothing. The air doesn’t hang heavy the same way smoke does, and you’re not left with that lingering stench clinging to everything around you.

It’s also pretty customizable, so you can create those more chokey hits if you want to. The Lobo features precise temperature control, ranging from 320°F to 430°F, which lets you dial in different feels depending on your mood.

I like to jump around a bit. Keep the temperature low, and you can get plenty high without the coughing fits, or turn it up when you want that heavier punch and get stupid high with those lung-busting tokes. fnm-potv-lobo-review

Plenty of Flavor and Clouds

The Lobo does really well with both solid flavor and milky clouds. The first few hits of each session featured terpene-rich profiles that quickly built into thick clouds of vapor. I spent some time with a lively strain with strong citrus notes and a bit of earthiness underneath, and those first few hits really came through with a bright, lemony flavor.

Some weed vapes take a little time to start cranking the clouds, but the Lobo delivered right from the get-go, and never seemed to waver until the weed was completely spent. Long tokes delivered hefty clouds, while small sips were light and easy.

It’s a really nice balance. You don’t have to choose between flavor and clouds. You get both!

Controls are Straightforward

Thankfully, the POTV Lobo vape is quite easy to use. The process is very similar to what most people are used to, with just a few extra steps.

Grind your weed like normal, pop off the mouthpiece, and fill the oven to the top without packing it too tight. Put it back together, triple-click to turn it on, set your temperature, and you’re good to go.

I found myself landing around 390°F most of the time. It’s a great middle ground that gives you solid flavor and satisfying clouds.

Once it buzzes, it’s ready. From there, you can treat it however you want. Take a few hits and come back to it later, or keep going until the vapor starts to taper off. If you want to finish things off, bump the temperature up and squeeze out the rest, or just dump it and reload.

Taking It Further With Glass

You’re also encouraged to experiment with a variety of glass accessories offered by POTV. The Lobo comes with a short, dimpled glass mouthpiece that feels good on the lips, but there are plenty of ways to switch things up.

I picked up their curved mini glass bubbler and the water pipe adapter, both of which add a different feel to the session.

I’ve got one of those steel bongs, and it became my favorite way to use it. I’m used to quick, punchy hits with my bong, but the Lobo demands long, steady draws rather than a quick rush, so it took a second to adjust. It cools those extended hits down to the point where you barely feel them going in, until you exhale a massive cloud and it all catches up.

Perks of the POTV Lobo

There are a few smaller details about the Lobo that don’t sound flashy on paper, but make a real difference once you start using it regularly.

The swappable battery is a really nice feature. At one point, I was all set for a session, full bowl packed, sitting on the couch, ready to go. I turned it on, got a few hits in, and it died. What a bummer.

Luckily, I had a spare 18650 charged up. I swapped the dead one out, popped in the fresh battery, and got right back to it.

Cleaning is also pretty easy. There are only a few pieces to soak when it gets really gunked up, but otherwise, a quick brush out after each session keeps things in good shape.

The Lobo holds around 0.2g, and I was able to get two, sometimes three, solid sessions before needing to reload. Your mileage may vary, but for me, it doesn’t take much to hit that sweet spot, so a full oven can actually go a long way.

The Tradeoff of Dry Herb Vapes and Where the Lobo Lands

While the Lobo is a fantastic vaporizer, it won’t completely match everything you may love about smoking. You won’t get that sharp, immediate punch of a bong rip or the simplicity of sparking a joint, but it hits hard when you want it to, and it’s easy enough to dial in.

The Lobo offers a different kind of experience, one that’s smoother, more controlled, and a lot easier on your lungs, without losing those potent highs.

If you’ve been thinking about making the switch or just want to dip your toes in, the POTV Lobo is a solid choice. It’s easy to use, delivers potent results, and has a strong lineup of glass accessories to build around. For under $200, it makes a compelling case for ditching the smoke.
