Farmingdale, NY – August 29, 2025 – Planet Nugg, Long Island’s licensed dispensary known for its dedication to cannabis education and community impact, has teamed up with premium cannabis lifestyle brand Alibi to present “Weed, Women & Wellness” – a transformative, free community workshop that explores the healing potential of plant-based medicine for women.
This groundbreaking event will unite a dynamic panel of women leaders in cannabis, health, and wellness for a candid and empowering discussion on how cannabis can be used to manage stress, trauma, pain, sleep challenges, and self-care – particularly for women who have endured domestic violence, chronic stress, or emotional trauma.
A Healing Space for Women
“Cannabis can be a tool not only for relief but also for empowerment,” said Ariana Costa, Buyer and Inventory Manager at Planet Nugg. “This workshop is about education, community, and breaking stigma. We’re building a safe, inclusive space where women can learn, connect, and grow.”
Judge Janine Barbera-Dalli, Co-founder of the Freebird Organization, which supports survivors of domestic violence, emphasized the importance of the event’s mission:
“Many women coping with the trauma of abuse suffer from anxiety, sleepless nights, pain, and deep emotional distress. We believe that plant-based healing can be a compassionate and empowering alternative to help women reclaim their peace. This event does not focus on cannabis but moreover about options, education, and giving women a sense of control and comfort in their healing journey.”
Julie Tubens, Co-founder of Planet Nugg, added:
“We founded Planet Nugg with a mission to educate and destigmatize cannabis, especially for communities that have been marginalized or misinformed. Women deserve access to trusted knowledge, supportive communities, and real solutions. This is that space.”
