Highlife Health Expands New Rochelle Dispensary, Launches Reality TV Series Highlighting Industry Challenges

New Rochelle, NY — May 13, 2025 — Highlife Health, New Rochelle’s first woman-owned, fully licensed adult-use cannabis dispensary, is proud to announce its official retail expansion. The newly expanded space at 19 Huguenot Street will provide a larger, more engaging environment for customers to browse and learn about a wide variety of cannabis products in a welcoming and informative setting.

This expansion marks a significant milestone for Highlife Health since its grand opening in August 2024. Founded by Jennifer Gierum, the dispensary was established to redefine cannabis wellness and deliver safe, regulated access to products in a community-first setting.

Reality Series to Shine Light on Industry Inequities As part of its broader advocacy mission, Highlife Health is currently filming a reality TV series that will document the behind-the-scenes realities of operating a legal dispensary in a market still impacted by widespread illegal operations.

“Every day we follow the rules, pay the taxes, and build trust with our community. And every day we see illegal shops down the street operating freely,” said Gierum. “This show is about truth and accountability. The public deserves to understand what’s happening behind the scenes.”

The series will highlight the regulatory gap currently facing the legal cannabis industry—specifically the fact that the New York State Office of Cannabis Management (OCM) does not have the authority to shut down unlicensed dispensaries. This lack of enforcement, Gierum argues, undercuts the legitimacy and economic viability of licensed businesses that have invested heavily in compliance.

Stronger Together Despite these challenges, Highlife Health remains committed to community engagement, product education, and safe access to cannabis. The dispensary offers a wide selection of cannabis flower, tinctures, edibles, and topicals, as well as local delivery options.

“We’re not just selling cannabis—we’re building a trusted, community-rooted wellness space,” said Gierum.
