Nuvata Got Me Hooked

Mom is taking the night off! This is the first thought that crossed my mind when I saw this vape. Maybe it’s the beautiful purple that has me relaxed already. Maybe it’s just that it matches my glasses. Whatever it is, this vape and I are going to become great friends.

They put the Nu in Nuvata

Nuvata believes that cannabis can add so much benefit to the lives of those who use it. They hold so strongly to their values that they’re even in the name:

“Nuvata was coined by combining two separate terms, ‘nu’ and ‘vata.’ Nu stands for the new way of bringing something new to life and a re-envisioning of art. Vata is one of the three Doshas (substances that are present in a person’s body) according to Ayurvedic medicine, and refers to space and air. As Thai-Indian-Americans, we wanted our eastern values to coincide with western culture through cannabis.”

When you check out the Nuvata website you are immediately greeted by the whole line of Mind Body series products, but the thing that gets me is the 9:1. THC:CBD ratio. What the hell does that even really mean? I see a lot of copy re: the entourage effect, but nothing on the actual levels of specific cannabinoids in their products. As a consumer, this bugs me a lot. It shouldn't be this hard to find out exactly what I’m smoking.

The thing I really loved, however, was the quiz they offer to help match you to a product. I think it could be incredibly useful for those new to the stoner world. The goal is to promote a sense of wellness and balance over THC percentage, which I can appreciate.

Product Design

The simple yet effective packing makes my brain so happy. It screams, “I can speak for myself.” It’s not flashy and in your face. It gives you the LD on the product. You know, like Tinder but for your vape. Something to note is the bottom of the vape is not flat, so you can’t stand it up next to you. You’ll have to lay it down. I personally refuse to lay my vapes over if I can get away with it. I'm just scared it will leak somehow, and these are precious contents.

As much as I love the look of the packaging, the way it actually functions is annoying. This may truly not matter in the long term because I think most people will just throw the packaging away and carry the vape. I personally like to keep mine in the box so I don’t mix up my products. You are supposed to push down on the button and slide the box open. That just doesn’t work as smoothly as you would hope. It’s not hard, but it is incredibly annoying for a grown woman to struggle to open the box.

Terps

There is a full breakdown of the terp profile on the vape, which gives me a sort of comfortable feeling. I feel like I have a good idea of what to expect. I love the idea that the entire line is named based on effect and not indica/sativa, or just strain names. I don’t want to couch-lock myself when I’m trying to go for a run.

The entire line offers six different effect-based vapes, all in their own vibrant colors with a unique-to-them terp break down. This Nuvata blog post does a great job explaining the whole line and what each vape’s purpose is. The Mind Body line focuses on helping consumers feel their best in every way.

Sneaky Serenity

Another thing I appreciated is Nuvata’s messaging that their vapes are an inconspicuous way to medicate on the go. Their claims are true, and their vapes (thankfully) don’t scream I’M A STONER LOOK AT ME! The vape is small and discreet that I feel like it would be perfect for travel. I have intense social anxiety, and this is so small I feel like I could (and would) take this with me when I’m out. I also want to mention there is measured dosing on this, which I don’t think I have ever seen from another vape company outside of dosist

Experience

The specific vape I was sent to review is the grape-flavored Full Body. I was so excited to work this in with my weight-training routine to see how it does with DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness). I am the kind of person who smokes daily, and this vape was a heavy hitter for sure. The grape flavor is surprisingly strong on the first few hits, but after that it’s a standard vape. It’s honestly a little disappointing because the flavor was great until it was gone.

When we talk about an experience, I know it is a subjective thing, but this vape hit exactly as described. I believe when they say Full Body they mean “full body.” The high it provided made me oddly sentimental about childhood and life. When I smoke this with my coffee as a now full-grown adult, it gives me an overall chill vibe while still maintaining my energy levels. It’s also great at night for relaxing and easing off to sleep. I happened to notice this specific vape is marked for intimacy… I must disagree here. It’s really hard to be intimate when you’re asleep.

Would I add this to my stash?

As much as I want to be able to add this to my stash, I can’t. As of now, you can’t order these online, which is incredibly disappointing. Hopefully this is a change Nuvata is able to make in the near future. I don’t have a retailer in my area, but if you do then this would be a great addition to your stash.

I truly love the whole idea of naming the vape options based on effect instead of strain, and it seems like Nuvata is ahead of the game in this area. As an industry, I believe we will start to see a shift in terms of how cannabis is sold and described. The color-coded vapes are so visually appealing, especially when you see them all together. Nuvata has a great product, and I’d absolutely love to try all of them eventually.
